Mr. Carl Soucek has been Director of Bands at Carroll High School since 2002, and was Assistant Director of Bands from 2000-2002. Mr. Soucek joined the faculty after receiving a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Miami University. While at Miami, Mr. Soucek performed with the Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Steel Band, World Music Ensemble, Concert Percussion Ensemble, and Indoor Drumline. Under the direction of Mr. Gary Speck, Mr. Soucek had the honor of performing with the Miami University Wind Ensemble at the College Band Director’s National Association Conference in Austin, Texas. Mr. Soucek has studied with several accomplished instructors, including Dr. Jason Koontz, Dr. William Albin, Christoper Tanner, Gary Rudolph, and Michael French. He has also had the honor of performing with Srinivas Krishnan, and Grammy Award Winners Glen Velez, and Jamal Muhammed. Mr. Soucek is a member of Music Educators National Conference, and the Ohio Music Educators Association. He has also been on staff for the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps for both the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
Mr. Andy Soloman has been the Assistant Director of Bands since 2009. Mr. Soloman received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education, magna cum laude from Wright State University in 2009. While at Wright State, Mr. Soloman studied euphonium with Mr. Francis Laws, Mr. Jacob Cameron, Dr. Gretchen McNamara, and Dr. Benjamin Miles and was mentored by Mr. Wayne Markworth. He performed at WSU with the Wind Symphony under the direction of accomplished guest conductors Dr. Jack Stamp and Dr. James Croft, as well as Chamber Players, Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Low Brass Quartet, Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, and Trombone Ensemble. Mr. Soloman toured throughout the United States with the Bluecoats, Glassmen, and Madison Scouts drum and bugle corps as well as Rhythm X Indoor Drumline, including an international tour with performances in England, Belgium, and the Netherlands. As an instructor, Mr. Soloman enjoys teaching low brass privately in the Dayton area. Mr. Soloman is a member of Music Educators National Conference, Ohio Music Educators Association, and Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.
Katherine has had a 9 year history in the colorguard community. Graduating in 2003, she was a member of Centerville High School’s colorguard before she went on to be a member of Phantom Regiment in 2003 and 2004. More recently, Katherine has been performing with Zydeco Colorguard in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Katherine has been a technician for Centerville Colorguard since 2004 and looks forward to her second year as the guard director for Carroll Colorguard. Outside of colorguard, Katherine graduated from Wright State University with her B.S. in Management and is now working in the corporate incentive industry for Excellence In Motivation. She looks forward to a season of growth and success for the Carroll Patriots!
Lyndsey has had a wonderful six years of experience in the colorguard world. She attended Centerville high school where she was a part of the Centerville Jazz Band and World Winter Guard for all four years. After graduating in 2008 she spent her summer marching with the Carolina Crown. Upon returning she started teaching Carroll's marching band. She is now also teaching Centerville's A colorguard along with Carroll's guard. Outside of colorguard, Lyndsey goes to Wright State University as a Biology major working towards her degree in Physical Therapy. She is very happy to have a great group of girls to work with and can't wait to watch them grow.
